Discipleship Opportunities

Fall 2010

Our Wednesday Family Night activities and classes will resume on September 8, and the following classes will be offered:

The Beatitudes: Developing Spiritual Character The beatitudes reveal eight (8) qualities that bring God’s blessing. Jesus highlighted these to offer both encouragement and instruction on living distinctly as his followers in a world with values much different from God’s. Facilitator: Dr. Charles Smith

The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children, Part II This is the second part of the class that was offered last spring. Author Stormie Ormartin says, “The truth is you never stop being a parent who deeply cares about your child's well-being, no matter what age they are....” She offers 14 things to pray for adult children, including that they find freedom, restoration and wholeness; have a sound mind and right attitude; and be protected and survive in tough times. Facilitators: Mary Jane and Frank Ranson

What’s So Amazing About Grace Grace is the church's great distinctive. It's the one thing the world cannot duplicate, and the one thing it craves above all else, for only grace can bring hope and transformation to a jaded world. Philip Yancey offers compelling, true portraits of grace's life-changing power. He searches for its presence in his own life and in the church. He challenges us to become living answers to a world that desperately wants to know What's So Amazing About Grace? Facilitator: TBA
