This Month at HBC
SOMETHING NEW: Listen to the study of the book of James led by Rev.
Roberts on Wednesday nights. The sessions are now available
through a link on the Discipleship Classes
page. Now if you miss a session or if you are in other activities and are
unable to attend, you can listen to the session. Give it a try! Just go to
the Discipleship page and double click on the link (MP3). The file will
begin to play in just a few seconds. To return to the Discipleship page
after you have listened to the file click the Back Arrow in your
browser.
Monthly Fellowship Breakfast. On Sunday, February 5, bring a
breakfast treat to share with everyone at 9:30am in the Jones Fellowship
Hall.
Souper Bowl of Caring.
On Sunday, February 5, Our
youth will once again join the national “Souper
Bowl of Caring”
event, by holding soup pots at our church doors on Super Bowl
Sunday, February 5.

All monies collected by our youth will be
donated to our Soup Kitchen and “A Night’s
Welcome.”

Donations of sugar, salt, pepper, tea bags,
coffee and creamer will also go to “A Night’s
Welcome.”

Other
non-perishable food items donated will go to H.E.L.P.
Church-wide Missions Banquet.
An event for
everyone including men, women, youth and school aged children,
HBC’s 2012 Missions
Banquet will be held on Friday, February 17 at 6:30pm in the main
Fellowship Hall. Humorist and author, Polly Boyette from Virginia Beach,
will be the guest speaker.
Dinner & Nursery
Reservations Required:
For the dinner, please
complete a gray Dinner Reservation Form located in the church office and
mark it as a one-time reservation for “Missions Banquet” or call or e-mail
the church office with your reservation. A Nursery will be available by
reservation only; to make a nursery reservation, please contact the church
office by phone or e-mail or make a note on your Dinner Reservation that
you will be using the nursery. Dinner cost is $6.00 for Adults and $3.00
for Children ages 3-12. All reservations for dinner and for the nursery
should be made by Monday, February 13.

Youth Fundraiser for upcoming summer activities
Menu: Pancakes, sausage/bacon, fruit, milk, coffee and juice
and a variety of pancake syrups and toppings.
Purchase advance discounted tickets on Sundays in the Jones Fellowship
Hall and on Wednesday nights at the back door for : $5 Adults, $3 children
10 and under, with a family maximum of $15.
Ticket prices at the door on Shrove Tuesday: $6 Adults, $4 children 10 and
under,
with a family maximum of $18.

Night's Welcome.
During the week of February 25 - March 3
we will be providing dinner and breakfast, greeting guests, and monitoring
the facilities during the guest hours of 7pm-7am. Volunteer sign-up sheets
for “A Night’s Welcome” are on the giant bulletin board located next to
the water fountainsin the Children’s Hallway. If you know other people,
organizations, or churches thatwould be interested in touching the lives
of the needy in our community, invite them to join us in this “hands of

but we will do our best to ensure that members are notified. Our primary
concern is for your safety. When in doubt, always err on the side of
caution and do not attempt to come to church for a service if the weather
conditions are dangerous.
Spiritual Gifts Analysis. The church staff invites and encourages you
to take the Spiritual Gifts Analysis so you can discover how God, in his
divine workmanship, has created you to serve at Hampton Baptist Church.
The Spiritual Giftedness Guide will provide you with an explanation of
each Spiritual Gift and the Ministry/Committee Table will help you see
where your gifts can be express through the ministries and committees of

Directory/Database. You can create your own account on the church
directory/database so that you can access information that is included
there. As long as we have your email address on record, you can set up
your own account by visiting the AccessACS member login page at

Direct
Debit Contributions. Call the church office for details on how to
start direct debit to your bank account for your church offerings.
Complete the Authorization Agreement for Direct Payments to HBC and there
will be no more forgetting checks or envelopes at home. It is easier than

Media
Library. Watch for new things at the HBC Library! The library is open
every Sunday morning and Wednesday evenings. There will be someone from
the Media Library staff to assist you when it is open. If you need to
enter the library at other times you may sign the key out in the church
office and return it to the office when you are finished.
The
"Give and Take" book exchange is a big hit. Why not come and check it
out? There is something for everyone. Give a book to share and take a book
to read - no checking out. These books are on the
BIG RED cart in the library. |
